An English Home

Like people, some interiors are just more photogenic than others. It's not something you can necessarily put your finger on, but as soon as I shot this Victorian house in West London for Jess Lavers, I knew it would look great across the pages of a magazine. As well as being a lovely home with great interiors, it had also been thoughtfully styled. So I was thrilled when  The English Home magazine decided to run it in their September issue.

Seafood Platter

Most of my shoots are simply about recording existing interiors as I find them. While there is always some tweaking to be done to a space, either by the designer, an art director, or myself, the space and the things within are permanent. So it's always interesting to work with a prop stylist on something that didn't exist just a few minutes before the image was framed and the shutter pressed. Will Taylor, is one such stylist I really enjoy working with. He manages to conjure something from nothing, and is meticulous over every detail, making my job quite straightforward. Here he evokes the mediterranean and alfresco summer dining...

The Man in the blue blazer

The man in question is stylist Will Taylor who asked me to shoot his latest column for Rue Magazine, an online Interiors and Lifestyle publication. I've long admired Will's colourful blog, Bright Bazaar, so it was a real pleasure to work with him.
