Barnes Conversion

You don't expect to see weather-boarded cottages in London, but Barnes is one of those places that feels like it's not in the city at all. The outward appearance was only the first surprise, the rustic exterior concealing a sophisticated contemporary home. This was my second shoot for Andrew Wright, and again there were plenty of rich finishes and fabrics in this converted mill. In particular the long sitting room at the front of the house was stunning with its flamboyant wall in rosewood veneer  and red niches, while the oyster velvet sofas designed by Andrew, made the room very inviting. Elsewhere Andrew has used damask patterned velvet and crocodile skin to line doors, and polished plaster in various hues to add depth and richness.
