A Little Peace

My last post featured some rich Baroque church interiors in Bavaria. At Kloster Andechs, amongst all the gilded splendour, sits a remarkable chapel that couldn't be more different. This dark and very moving space is blackened by years of accumulated soot from the countless candles lit in hope and prayer, and 'decorated' with inscriptions like chalk on a blackboard. In light of recent events, we could certainly do with the hope. if not the prayer. A peaceful weekend to you all.
